‘I’m delighted to support this conference which addresses such a crucial area of our life and mission. It is a sad fact that people of global majority heritage have not always been made welcome in our churches, still less invited into leadership. This must change. The shared venture of launching new communities is just one way in which we can create the kind of churches that reflect all the people and communities we are called to serve. I’m confident that Hope-Filled Conversations will be an exciting and fruitful gathering.’
The Most Revd and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell, Archbishop of York

- Evaluate and challenge narratives around church planting and pioneering with the concerns of racial justice
- Provide a launchpad for further conversations and connections, including a number of formal and informal learning communities to support intercultural church planting supported by the Northern Mission Enabling Team
- Worship, reflecting the contributions of numerous cultures and culminating in a shared Intercultural EucharistMass (Also called the Eucharist, Holy Communion or Lord's Supper). The chief sacramental service of the Church, incorporating praise, intercession and readings from scripture. The central action is the consecration of the bread and wine by the priest, recalling the words and actions of Christ at the Last Supper and commemorating the sacrifice which he offered for the sins of mankind on the cross. In the medieval Church the Mass was celebrated daily; it was also offered for the souls of the dead
